Citizens for Better Government of Beaufort County
The Citizens for Better Government is comprised of a group of citizen patriots dedicated to preserving liberty in Beaufort County as well as North Carolina. Members attend open meetings of government entities to monitor and report on issues of interest to Beaufort County citizens and taxpayers.
As Citizens for Better Government, we also monitor the North Carolina General Assembly. We have lobbied representatives and senators in support of issues of interest to Beaufort County. Through public comments presented to the Beaufort County school board, we have influenced positive changes to board policies. The most recent effort was encouraging the school board to resume video recording and posting the school board meeting on their public website.
Our efforts on raising community awareness of a controversial woke social studies curriculum under consideration resulted in rejection by the board.
